A male indigo bunting rests on the arching spike of a dry corn tassel, his deep blue plumage set against a warm wash of gold, amber and faint green. The tassels fan out below him in fine, beaded detail while the field behind dissolves into soft light. It is a quiet study in complementary colour, calm and bright at once.
